Episode 2: Jacob
Jacob is one of the least likely people God could choose. A deceiver, manipulator, and schemer, his life is marked by broken relationships and the consequences of his own sin. Yet when Jacob reaches rock bottom, God meets him—not with condemnation, but with grace.
In Episode 6 of The Greatest Story, we follow Jacob from Bethel to the Jabbok River and finally to his reunion with Esau. Along the way, we discover that God's covenant has never depended on perfect people, but on His faithful grace. God doesn't wait for us to get our lives together before He calls us. Instead, His grace begins the work of transforming us into the people He created us to be.
Ultimately, Jacob's story points beyond himself to the God who faithfully preserves His covenant promises through generations, culminating in Jesus Christ—the true offspring through whom all nations are blessed. The same God who transformed Jacob still meets us in our weakness, invites us to surrender, and uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect purposes.
